Recognition Awards

Since its founding in 1948 as the Dad's Association, Texas Parents, the Parents' Association of The University of Texas at Austin, has been an important part of the life and culture of the university. One of the Association's objectives is to recognize and honor outstanding University students, faculty, and staff as appropriate through scholarships, awards, and endowments.

Outstanding Student Awards

This year marks the 63rd anniversary of The Outstanding Student Awards. Each year, since 1951, Texas Parents has proudly honored a male and female Outstanding Student recipient and four Outstanding Student finalists (two males and two females) who demonstrate exceptional leadership, scholarship, character, and service. A list of past recipients can be found below.

The Outstanding Student Award recipients receive a plaque, a brick paver laid at the Student Services Building in their honor, and a $1,000 grant given in their name to the registered student organization or campus program of their choice. Award recipients and finalists will be presented at the April 10, 2015 Texas Parents Spring Advisory Board Meeting. Both award recipients will be further honored and recognized during the 2015 Spring Commencement.
