Advisory Board Texas Parents is governed by an Advisory Board made up of about 75 couples and single parents. Advisory Board members serve a two-year, renewable term as ambassadors for The University of Texas at Austin, assist in planning activities for UT families and support the goals and objectives of Texas Parents. Advisory Board members are expected to maintain a membership in Texas Parents, attend the fall and spring Board meetings, and volunteer at one or more sessions of Family Orientation and/or Family Weekend. They are also expected to participate on one committee of their choice and in the annual membership drive. Nominations for the Advisory Board will be accepted July 1-24, 2010, and new members will be inducted at the Fall Board Meeting in Austin on Friday, October 15. If you are interested in becoming a member of our Advisory Board, please contact Lisa Sparks at 512.471.2353 or utparent@uts.cc.utexas.edu.
New Member Nominations All current Advisory Board members may participate in the new member nomination process which will begin on Thursday, July 1 and end on Saturday, July 24. Please read this information very carefully and complete the application accordingly. Only fully completed applications will be considered. Please remember that all couples/individuals nominated for membership will not be selected to join the Texas Parents Advisory Board. You may nominate no more than two couples/singles for membership. You must discuss the expectations and responsibilities of membership with your nominees prior to the submission of their membership application. Your nominees must agree to fulfill the expectations and responsibilities of membership. You must agree to mentor your nominee(s) during their first year as Advisory Board members.
